The JTL engineering technician apprenticeship is an Advanced Apprenticeship at Level 3 lasting approximately four years.

As a JTL apprentice you’ll be in full time employment with a local company receiving a good wage from day one. You’ll spend time learning your trade by gaining hands-on-experience working on-site with your employer, as well as attending a JTL approved college or training centre to learn the theoretical knowledge you will need.
Engineering Technicians take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work they undertake within the limits of their personal authority. They also need to be able to demonstrate a core set of behaviours in order to be competent in their job role, complement wider business strategy and development. This will enable them to support their long-term career development.
Engineered and manufactured products and systems that Engineering Technicians work on could involve mechanical, electrical, electronic, electromechanical and fluid power components/systems.
The advanced engineering maintenance apprenticeship Level 3 course takes approximately four years to complete.

The course is delivered via day release over an academic calendar year at a JTL training centre or college partner near you however, some regions may offer block release. Your dedicated JTL Training Officer will be able to advise you.
Each apprentice will be allocated a dedicated Training Office to monitor and assess their learning progress throughout their apprenticeship.
